VILTROX AF 13/1.4 Z is a super wide-angle large-aperture prime lens for Nikon z-mount camera models. It features STM focusing motor, step-less aperture dialing, and supporting eye/face detection autofocus. The compact and lightweight body makes it the best choice for Vlog creation. And your outstanding video shooting will attribute to the optimized video performance and insignificantly weak focus breathing!

If you have owned any Viltrox lenses then you are familiar with the overall quality (build and optics). This lens is no different . The 13mm on a cropped sensor is perfect. In addition to this I got the Sony 11mm which is a competitor to this lens. The advantage of the Sony is the weight and extra 2mm if you are wanting wider. Overall for the price this lens cannot be beat. Works perfectly for video also if you are using on a FF camera. I cant recommend this lens enough.
I picked this lens up after watching numerous reviews of it on YouTube. I wanted something wider than the kit 16-50 for my Z 50 and with a wider aperture. Nikon only makes the 14-30 F/4 which is $700 more than this lens. So I took a chance on this one based off of reviews on YouTube. I'm glad I did. The lens is excellent. Build quality is phenomenal, all metal construction, including the mount. It's got a rubber dust seal around the mount and apparently also throughout the lens as well. It fits the Z 50 nicely.Auto focus works 100%, including the eye and face detect, and quick. I think it might be quicker than the F mount glass I've been using on the FTZ with the camera. It's really good. It has an aperture ring that allows you to manually set it anywhere between f1.4 and f16, with no indents, so it is perfectly smooth. You can also just set it to A, and control the aperture from the camera. Image quality is beautiful, crystal clear and gives great images straight out of camera. This lens is heavy, don't drop it on your foot. I don't feel like it throws off the balance of the camera, because it's not a huge lens, but you definitely won't forget it's there like the 16-50. Also in some circumstances you will get some lens flares, but not terribly so. I have also noticed a very small amount of fringing, but you really need to look for it. My Nikon 50 1.8G lens is actually worse, so that's something.Over all I'd highly recommend this lens, and I'm actually thinking I'd like to add it's brother the 33 1.4 to my camera bag as well. Happy shooting!
